2012 Family Charts / 27.12.2012
December is all about best-of lists. With a busy 2012 behind us, we are happy to see a few of our folks shining. Influential XLR8R published their Top-100 downloads, and we were stunned to find 'Mia Got A New Haircut' by B-Ju ranking #11 (!). Furthermore, OLs' 'IWM' can be found at #46.
H-SIK was our new signing in 2012. The more we are happy his 'Cocody' EP shows up in two important lists. First, The Needle Drop voted the record into their Top-15 EPs. Second, Plant Mu's Gavin wisely listed 'Cocody' in the Top-10 releases. Expect more from the man in 2013...
Ryan Hemsworth had countless remixes out in 2012. Thus we are flattered heavyweight CBC Music voted his fix on Monolithiums' 'Bounce 4 Life' in their Top-5 Hemsworth remixes.
...and speaking about end-of-year charts we asked artists we worked with in 2012 to put down their top 5. Take note...read more
Bounce 4 Life 4 Ever / 14.12.2012
We are delighted to welcome Monolithium back on Error Broadcast. His second 12" EP ‘Bounce 4 Life’ finds the Victoria based producer offering the perfect mixture of club-ready footwork snare rolls and low swung hip hop, a glossy get-together of pitched vocals and super-melodic synth chords. Remixes include fellow Canadian Ryan Hemsworth, UK producer KingThing, and our own H-SIK.
"Anyone with eyes on the Canadian contingent (...) should’ve heard whispers of the name Monolithium for a while now." – Sonic Router
"While most artists who borrow from Chicago’s footwork tradition offer a watered down version of the original music, Monolithium’s heavily melodic take is malleable enough to avoid being a simple derivative." – Truants

Bounce 4 Life 4 Free / 23.11.2012
Monolithium released his debut 12“ Simon & G-Funk in Summer 2011. Back then, his mixture of 808 drummings, complex track arrangement and flawless pop was an important step for Error Bradcast to advance from the beat music continuum and found its logical extrapolation with releases by B-Ju, H-SIK, and OL most recently.
Today we are excited to share the title track of Monolithium's 2nd release, Bounce 4 Life, the single that was on constant repeat in the office the whole Summer through. We can't wait for this to drop on December 10, but in the meantime you can download the big bad tune and discover full tracklist and teaser on XLR8R.
B-Ju LIVE on the Internet / 09.11.2012

His schedule is getting more and more crowded each month so we asked him to stop by for an exclusive session on our Ustream channel, Sunday November 18th at 9pm CET...expect big things.

Body Varial release bash in Moscow. RAD! / 24.10.2012
Once again we teamed up with Moscow's RAD collective to present the official Body Varial release party this Friday October 26 at RODNYA club. Russians definitely know how to party so if you're around don't miss the bash.
Line-up is stellar: OL, Lapti, Pixelord, Vtgnike, Low Bob, Miracle Libido and IKONIKA as very special guest! We even shipped the guys a good bunch of records so go there and get the record from its creator's hands.
For more info visit the event page on Facebook.
Back to Russia with OL, Body Varial out NOW! / 08.10.2012
Russia proved to be excellent breeding ground for electronic music in recent years. Central figures of the beat scene publish on well-respected, international record labels, and the Fly Russia movement has been written-up in the most important music blogs and magazines.
For his new EP Body Varial, Moscow ambassador OL is embracing both Footwork tempi, the production aesthetics of Trap, and the fathomless echo chambers of Dub. Body Varial is as dark and dangerously brilliant as black snake skin. Its glossy textures flow elegantly though OL messes with pitch and complex percussion quite a bit.
The warmth of former production has been replaced by cross-synced synth patches and adventurous harmonic compositions. Body Varial combines sex with musical sophistication, offers common ground for bass nerds and dance folk. An immense record.

Stumblebum Motivation Mixtape / 29.08.2012
ages is young Michael Lundy of Orange County, California. We first got into his music when he released the 'failures' EP on bandcamp. In 2012, ages debuted with the full-length 'Bryan' for LAs' Alpha Pup.
Lundy blends ambient and obscure pop music with leftfield hip hop beats and spacious synth textures; a mixture you can find with his tape 'Stumblebum Motivation' as well.
And its quite a trip. Starting with an unreleased ages remix of Motion Sickness of Time Travel, Lundy drops the exclusive ages vs. Citymouth collaboration 'Michael Bownzon' for maximum effect. He carefully tunes the atmosphere towards washed-out and reverb-laden and sun-dried pop, culminating in the fake-80s synth gloss of Contact Lenses. From here, Lundy moves deeper into dance terrain. Intriguing to hear how well 90s R&B, acid house, juke, and trap go together.
Dreams mixes perfectly with devonwho, and Lundy sails into downtempo waters again. We get to hear another two exclusives (ahnnu and ages) before Broken Social Scenes' 'Anthems For A Seventeen Year-Old Girl' perfectly sets stages for the unreleased 'Edie Drone' y matthewdavid.

Cocody out NOW / 13.07.2012
Our new release comes from African producer H-SIK who delivers a refreshing take on footwork with his debut EP Cocody. With time spent in Southern France and the Netherlands, Hervé Sika combines influences from West African folklore, French Rap, and Amsterdams’ multi-ethnic approach to electronic music.
Each track seems to be exploring something different, and the producer’s distance from the epicenters of each scene no doubt allows him to take liberties with the sound others might see as being out of order. It works for him, and ‘Cocody’ is an unusual take on the music – it still hits hard, but there’s a lilt to H-Sik’s production that puts it in a realm of its own - Boomkat

Africa to Chicago and back with H-SIK / 15.06.2012
The good folks at XLR8R revealed the cover art for 'Cocody' and feature 'oOo rD Eye', a track taken from H-SIKs' upcoming EP. You can download it from here.
"H-SIK warps synth chords and quick arpeggios over fast moving rhythms touched in equal parts by elements of Chicago juke and his African background."
We got together with an old friend for the trailer video you can watch above. We worked with French designer 96 a few times in the past and are happy to be back cooperating. Crew looove!
H-SIK debuts with SHTRAK LOVE mixtape / 01.06.2012
We are excited to welcome a new member to the Error Broadcast collective – please meet H-SIK. We sat down with the Amsterdam-based producer for a brief interview which you can read below. Moreover, H-SIK put together a tape for us that is not only brilliantly mixed but showcases the influences he draws from as a producer as well. If you have a knack for juke, electronic music, instrumental hip hop, and the whole continuum in between we insistently recommend to get down with H-SIK on 30 minutes of intense ‘SHTRAK LOVE’.
Can you give us a short introduction to who you are and where you're from?
My name is Hervé Sika aka H-SIK. Originally I am from the Ivory Coast. By the age of seven I was introduced to the cold European weather when my family moved to a small town near Lyon, France. After short spells in the South of France, I set up home in Amsterdam and have been here for the last seven years.
Do you feel part of a certain scene or surrounding of like-minded producer? Benelux countries like Belgium or the Netherlands saw a stunning range of fresh producers recently. Think of Krampfhaft, Anti-G, Jameszoo, Torus, Cupp Cave, Dynooo…
Yes, the music I listen to and the performances I attend in Holland these days definitely have an impact on me, and it shows in the music I am producing. Viral Radio, for example, is currently bringing a new air of openness and accessibility to the Dutch music scene. They help producers, artists, and event organizers with similar passions and interests to meet and listen to each other. Viral Radio provides a creative and friendly surrounding where people can greatly benefit from each other. Of course this has an impact on the music.
C_DR_C and H-SIK at Viral Radio
You are associated with Shtrak, can you tell us about it?
"Shtrak" is a common slang word in South France, meaning crazy, wicked. For us, Shtrak means to make the best out of an unexpected situation. When I moved to the Netherlands I met C_DR_C and E.A.R.L and we decided to fund a collective that helps us to promote what we love: art and music. Moresounds is in the gang, too.
Your sound is very eclectic, it seems you can do zero bpm as well as 90 and 140. A certain nervousness on the snares however is characteristic to most of your productions. Can you elaborate on musical influences?
I asked myself this question a lot recently… As mentioned above, my beats are influenced by the experiences I have, and I channel this into my music. It’s like a sensation. I don't like to put my sounds into a box or label it and this is why I experiment with such a broad range of tempi and styles. I was also listening to some of my families’ music from the Ivory Coast some weeks ago and it struck me - wow this is so up-tempo and fast, even abstract, this also must be an influence on me!
That’s interesting, what kind of music is this?
It's a traditional band called TP Audio Rama, from the region I was born, Agneby.
You crafted a percussive and dense mix for us. What is your motivation as a DJ?
I want to do something that people can’t expect. Do something people can’t easily label, box, and forget about. I also think my DJ sets are different to my productions, again, showing the range of my musical passions rather than sticking to a certain bpm signature. Currently I love juke music and its maniac energy so maybe dancing shoes will be necessary, who knows – you better be prepared!

Bigger Than Eight Steps to Mathematics / 06.05.2012
While forward-thinking beat makers typically aim for unheard and 'next level' instrumentals the use of Rap and R&B vocals never went out of fashion. In 2012, bootleg culture is alive and kicking.
We publish this tiny collection of bootlegs by six EB-affiliated producers as a free give-away to celebrate 3.000 'Likes' on our facebook. Irrespective of the latest spasms in 'Bass Music' it serves as a reminder from where we draw our main motivation and elegantly reflects the label motto: Basically it's Hip Hop.
1. Company Flow - Eight Steps To Perfection (Monolithium Recrunk)
2. 8Ball - Stop Playing Games (B-Ju Remix)
3. Dead Prez - It's Bigger Than (Swede:art Remix)
4. Mos Def - Mathematics (Montgomery Clunk Remix)
5. Missy Elliott - Loose Control (Recontrolled by DZA)
6. Nicki Minaj - Did It On Em (OL Remix)

The fictitious world of Montgomery Clunk / 20.03.2012
A couple of months ago we announced a new Montgomery Clunk's ep in 2012. The time has come and today we unveil the artwork of the Mondegreen EP which has been once again drawn by Paul Paun, the young artist behind the twisted cover of Monty's previous work, Superbus.
We sat down with both Silviu and Paul to discover what's behind these fascinating characters and their connection with the music.
Hi Paul, Silviu, please give us a brief introduction to who you are and what you do.
Paul: Ey I'm Paul 20 years old, I live in Bucharest, Romania and I am currently studying graphic design at the National Arts Academy. I've been drawing since I can remember.
I consider myself one of those really lucky people that can go through life doing exactly what they love for a living. I like the slack and the lack of responsabilities that come with an artist's life yet this is changing now since I'm going into graphic design and the sort. I'm creeping up on 3D art and animation, dreaming on doing something massive and impressive, hope my delusions of grandeur help me achieve this.
Silviu: Hey, I'm 23... I'm Silviu. I'm mostly interested in various forms of sound.
Sometimes I go out with my friends. Got dreams, too. I also play videogames and all that...read more
OL drops 'Arabic Gum' Mixtape / 27.02.2012
While working on new material for his forthcoming 12" EP 'Body Varial' on Error Broadcast OL has been busy djing with his partner-in-crime Lapti, so we asked a contribution to our mixtape series to check what's going on in the club scene of Moscow.
Arabic Gum is the perfect reflection of what's contemporary and fresh in the beat sphere: from the Lex Luger bassocentric hip-hop of Tyga to the hyper dance-music of Sinjin Hawke passing through Juke (Distal & Rashad) and Techno (Benjamin Damage & Doc Daneeka, Nah Like). By tuning in you'll experience 30 minutes of pure dopeness for the dancefloor, a major system-upgrade from one of the finest digger. Sit tight and get ready to dance.

Volt (kidkanevil Remix) Official Video / 05.02.2012
Late in 2011 Error Broadcast released Repolyx by Taprikk Sweezee who approached Labmeta to create a video for the track Volt. The sumptuous remix by kidkanevil is a dance floor killer, the perfect mix of sleazy, low slung beats with the sweet and intricate vocals of Taprikk.
The video features a sparse environment that is manipulated by a polygon reactor and is directed by Paul Mumford who worked on projects for artists such as Michael Fakesch, Pendulum, Aoki Takamasa, Franz Ferdinand, Kylie Minouge and Depeche Mode. Enjoy the digital bliss!
